Advances in medical science and improvements in technology have contributed to longer lives. As a result the world’s population is rapidly aging. Marketers have recognized that the emergence of this graying or silver market is an important opportunity. However, lumping the gray market into one group is a simplistic approach that would end up being more of a loss than a gain.
